What should I do prior to the appointment?
Shave or wax at least 24 hours before Tan is applied. The evening before: The more time and consideration you give to exfoliation and moisturisation, especially around key areas such as knees, ankles, elbows the better. You need to remove all the layers of dead skin to enable you to have a much smooth and absolutely flawless tan. Do not, however moisturise on the day of the treatment as this can act as a barrier preventing contact of the spray tan to the skin. This also applies to wearing make-up, you must remove all traces of make-up before you enter the tanning room. A head band or clip is advisable, to enable your beautician full access to your face.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Ideally you should wear dark and loose clothing and open toed shoes or flip flops. To avoid discolouration of finger and toe nails, a light coating of nail varnish is advisable.

Will my tan protect me from U.V?
Simply no! Our Tan, as well as most other spray tans, contain no sunscreens and offer no protection from the sun’s harmful U.V. Radiation, so it is important that you still use a sun protection product with a level of SPF to suit your skin type and exposing your skin to direct sunlight.
I am pregnant. Should I have a spray tan?
At Solaris, we do not recommend that pregnant women, in their first trimester (13 weeks) or those breast feeding have a spray tan. Due to the hormonal changes some women also become sensitive to some products when pregnant so this advice is a general precaution.
How long does a spray tan take?
To get a full body Tan, it normally takes between 6 to 8 minutes, but please allow about 30 minutes for your spray tan appointment. While the solution dries almost instantly, you will need time to get dressed!
I am quite fair; will your Tan be suitable for me?
Absolutely! Our tan is suitable for all skin colours. Paler complexions who do not tan well in natural sunlight or sun beds will see excellent results.
How soon can I shower after a spray tan?
Ideally 6 to 8 hours, it is best to leave showering until the tan has had time to develop. In an ideal world you would book your spray tan appointment at tea-time and shower off the next morning (avoid washing up at all costs!). Some surface bronzer will wash off during the first shower. Do not worry, this is completely normal, pat dry, do not rub. During the developing period, do not swim or exercise.
